Each event is a solid standalone tournament, but each one also allows participants to accumulate points towards our crowning of a pair of 2015 Inshore Champions at the culmination of our Carolina Beach event. Anglers can expect food, beverages, raffles, camaraderie, and more surrounding the Registration and Awards Ceremonies of each of the tournaments. Of course, the backbone of any tournament is the competition, and to that end, there will be over 20 ways to take home a check from the leaderboard of any of the event. Click here for additional information.

Wide Open Tech Spanish Mackerel Open
July 31 - August 2, 2015
Pull out your planers, torpedo weights, and Clarkspoons. Maybe have a few pogies and live bait rigs on hand. And it couldn’t hurt to try out some ‘Bama Rigs and Spanish Daisies (or maybe have a spinning rod or two to cast some Stingsilvers and Sling Shots). What you pull behind your boat doesn’t matter. Just make sure you’re part of the action, as we predict a strong showing from our local fishing community at the 2015 Wide Open Tech Spanish Mackerel Open. Click here for additional information.

Topsail Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge
October 2 - 4, 2015
Welcome to the Topsail Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge, a brand-new event that Fisherman’s Post is proud to be bringing to the island’s beachfront this October. The Topsail Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge is modeled after our extremely popular Pleasure Island Surf Fishing Challenge fall event (attracting 500 anglers last year), as it features round-the-clock fishing from midnight on Friday, October 3, to noon on Sunday, October 5. The challenge is for entrants to weigh the heaviest speckled trout, flounder, bluefish, pompano, sea mullet, and/or black drum over the 36 hours of fishing. Click here for additional information.

Pleasure Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge
October 16 - 18, 2015
Fisherman’s Post is excited to return to the shores of Carolina, Kure, and Fort Fisher to shine the spotlight on the island’s superb fall surf fishing with the Eighth Annual Pleasure Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge. Attracting nearly 500 anglers last year, the event is the largest surf fishing contest outside NC’s Outer Banks, and the catches, stories, and camaraderie we’ve seen, heard, and felt in the past seven years have us motivated to return and make this the best year yet. The basic format of the event remains the same—a 36-hour fishing marathon lasting from midnight on Friday, October 16, to noon on Sunday, October 18. Click here for additional information.
